Peter Crouch insists Jack Harrison 'HAS to be in with a shout' of making Gareth Southgate's Euros squad after Leeds star's stunning display in emphatic win over Burnley

Gareth Southgate's ever-expanding pool of attackers deserving of a Euro 2020 spot this summer has gained another name, with Peter Crouch nominating Jack Harrison.

The 24-year-old wide-man was on target as Leeds thumped Burnley 4-0 at Turf Moor, tightening their grip on 10th spot and extending a streak of red-hot late season form. 

Harrison added two assists for Rodrigo to round off his superb display on Saturday, which was just the latest example of how brilliantly he's transitioned from Championship to Premier League football this term.

The winger has yet to earn his first Three Lions cap but when asked on BT Sport if he deserves a spot in the England setup this summer, Crouch backed the Elland Road star. 

'I don't see why not,' the former England striker, who scored at the 2006 World Cup, said.

'Every time I have watched him he’s had an impact. He was the best player on the pitch today – he was defensively very sound. He has to be in with a shout (at the Euros). 

'He’s fantastic on the counter, he’s got the legs. He's been a fantastic player this season for Leeds.'

Harrison's performances will force England boss Gareth Southgate to consider the winger 

Harrison has eight goals and eight assists amid an impressive season, the latest coming with a clever flick on Saturday, directing Ezgjan Alioski's wayward shot into the Burnley net. 

That was Leeds' second in a comfortable away victory, with Mateusz Klich and a Rodrigo double either side to bag the three points. 

With Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal all just about within reach above them, Harrison is pleased with the Whites' form going into their final two matches. 

'I think my goal was a bit lucky but as a team we can be very happy with that performance,' the winger said. 

'I meant to get just direct it towards goal but I wasn’t sure if I was offside or not and luckily it turns out I was onside.

The 24-year-old added two assists for forward Rodrigo after his flick doubled the Whites' lead 

'The first five minutes they were all over us. They kept us in our own box and made it hard for us to play out. But I think we defended well and we got through that tough period as a team. Then we settled down and played our game.

'We are always ambitious as a team and we are always striving for (more) but it’s been a good season for us as a club. 

'It's been a good first season back in the Premier league and we are just hoping to finish strong.'
