FL Cold Case Disappearance has Investigators Stymied

What happened to Elizabeth Prescott?

Callaway, Florida is a non-descript town of just under 15 thousand people near Panama City in the Panhandle. It was here in 2004 that 19-year-old Elizabeth Prescott vanished – seemingly without a trace – from her home.

Her husband Coy came home to what was the Abalone Senior Apartments on April 30th of ’04. All he found in the young couple’s flat was a wet towel on the bathroom floor, and his wife missing along with 50 dollars. There was no sign of forced entry.

After trying to figure out where his wife had gone, Coy called 9-1-1. Lieutenant Jeremy Mathis with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, summed up why law enforcement was worried, “Didn’t know where she went, wasn’t evident that she had taken a lot of stuff with her and so that kind of got us concerned.”

The Sheriff’s Office immediately opened an investigation which still – to this day – is open, albeit gone cold.

Investigators are reticent to officially say much on the case, though Elizabeth’s family holds on to hope that – somewhere – she is still alive.

Elizabeth would be 36 today. She is 5’2”, around 110 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Elizabeth would wear contacts that tint her eyes green and often dyes her hair auburn or black. She goes by Beth and may be using her maiden name Pagliacceti.
