Score another win for DNA.

William Reece also stands accused of killings in Texas and is currently in the Lone Star state’s penal system for other murders.

Reece was charged in the 24-year-old Oklahoma murder of 19-year-old newlywed Tiffany Johnston after DNA linked him to the cold case. Reece confessed to abducting her from a carwash in the city of Bethany, Oklahoma on July 26, 1997. He sexually assaulted and then manually strangled her.

While confessing to the murder of Tiffany Johnston, Reece apparently confessed to two more bodies in Texas after making a deal with the state that took the death penalty off the table. Texas Rangers reportedly asked the state’s attorney helming the Oklahoma case to do the same when Reece was formally charged six years ago. The Oklahoma district attorney summarily refused.

Kelli Ann Cox was only 20-years-old and in school at the University of North Texas at Denton.

The other Texas victim was 17-year-old Jessica Cain who was from Galveston. Both times Reece used a bulldozer to bury the bodies. Remains were subsequently found in 2016.
