Your kids will have the time of their lives with more than 35 slides and wave simulated bodyboarding at the Rapids water park, though it’s not cheap. Monday through Friday, non-holidays cost $49.99 per person, plus tax. Weekends, and holidays, and $57.99 per person. If you plan on staying for a few days or the summer, a season pass might be cheaper for only $114.95.

However, as you’ll see in this video, there’s something for most age groups.

Visit the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum

When visiting Palm Beach, FL, Whitehall is a must-see adventure. It is a seventy-five room, 100,000 square foot mansion. It is open to the public Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and on Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Henry Flager built the mansion as their winter home for his wife in 1902. It was said to be more splendid than many European castles. If you are interested in period architecture and art, this is a perfect tourist destination.

What’s impressive is the furnishings and art stood up to the Florida heat and humidity for the 80 or so years it had no air conditioning.

It is listed as a National Historic Landmark and is now the home of the museum named for its builder.

Visit Manatee Lagoon

Although Manatee Lagoon is currently closed, we foresee it opening sometime after Memorial Day, so check their website before you go. Likewise, you can take the virtual tour to get the kids excited about seeing these gigantic, fabulous creatures that are now on the endangered list.

Manatee Lagoon is admission-free, has parking, and is located at 6000 N. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, FL. Phone 561-MAN-ATEE for more info.

View art

The Norton Museum of Art, located in West Palm Beach, boasts over 7,000 works. Currently, numbers are limited, and time-slot reservations are required.

The museum features photography, contemporary art, as well as American, Chinese, and European art.

In 2003, it became the largest museum in Florida, a position once held by the Mable Ringling Museum of Art. The museum is located at 1451 S Olive Ave.

Take a narrated cruise

The Palm Beach Water Taxi is the best way to view the town from the water for around $12, or a targeted trip for $30, with discounts for children. You will have the opportunity to travel by water in a private charter, shuttle service, or a narrated sightseeing cruise. Narrated tours and snorkeling cost extra. Check the website.

You can take these cruises aboard one of the 49-passenger Corinthian Catamarans or a 20-passenger covered vessel. You will have fun seeing and hearing about the yachts and mansions of the “rich and famous.”

This town is packed with exciting events and places suitable for families and individuals from all walks of life.
