Harvey Elliott Praises Jordan Henderson
Liverpool have been without Jordan Henderson since the captain underwent surgery in February to fix a groin issue. The England international has yet to return to training but is making progress.
When speaking on Henderson, Jurgen Klopp said, "He looks good, that's the good news, but not in training yet."
Although he has been injured and has yet to return to training, that has not stopped the captain from receiving praise. When recently speaking on the Counter Attack Podcast, Harvey Elliott heaped praise on the Liverpool captain.
“I don't think people [outside the club] appreciate him as much as they should. He is an absolute legend on and off the pitch. I can't say enough about him, he is a top captain and what everyone wants in a captain.”
The young winger went on to say that Henderson does it because he wants to, not for a reaction.
“He is a leader on and off the pitch. He doesn't do it for the reaction, he does it because he wants to have an effect on things and put them in line and show everyone can be on the some page - he brings people with him.”
Elliott, who is currently on loan with Blackburn Rovers, is enjoying a nice season of his own. The former Fulham player has six goals and 12 assists in the Championship this season. After praising his leadership abilities, Elliott went as far as comparing Henderson to the legendary Steven Gerrard.
"He greeted me well, he has always taken me under his wing and given me a kick up the arse when I've needed one. He is like a clone of Steven Gerrard, really."
