In January, Denise announced she was forced to quit Dancing On Ice after learning she'd fractured her shoulder in an accident during training.

She told fans she'd withdrawn the show after being told by doctors the injury would leave her severely limited in training.

Discussing the incident, she revealed that she was 'not fully recovered' following her fall, saying: 'I'm not fully recovered but I have movement now...

'I couldn't really move it before. I'm having physio so its not something that will get better overnight these things take time. Unfortunately where I had the break all the muscles round it haven't been active so I'm having to restretch everything'.

Remaining optimistic she said: 'It could have been a lot worse I could have ended up on an operating table. At one point they thought I was going to have to have surgery.'

Eddie, who she has been with for seven years, was on hand to help look after her following the accident, but joked he thinks she's accident prone.

Denise said: 'He was looking after me. We're doing Gogglebox again and he was like, "I think next time you just need to be sat and not doing anything dangerous."

'Then he laughed and said, "knowing you you'd probably fall off the sofa".

She said: 'We're going to just do it when things open, it won't be big affair, but it would be lovely to have all friends and family there.

'We haven't set a date or put any plans in place because were seeing what we're allowed to do. We're not in a rush, if we can do something next year and its more relaxed with all the people we want with us.'

Denise added that both she and Eddie both have children from previous relationships and because they already live together it takes some pressure off the wedding.

She added: 'We're doing it as a commitment to each other even though we are already. It'll just be the icing on the wedding cake.'

After Denise spoke to MailOnline, she revealed she was determined to 'bring smiles to the streets' as she performed outside a West End theatre for the campaign.

The actress took to the street outside the Dominion Theatre in London with a troupe of singers and dancers on Wednesday to pull off the performance.

She performed the original song Brighter Days with the team as part of a campaign with belVita and the Acting For Others group - made up of 14 theatrical charities.

Denise, who has been a huge supporter of the charity, called the campaign 'genius' and said she was 'thrilled' to take part.

All proceeds from the song, which will be released on May 10, will go towards helping theatre workers with financial and emotional support in times of need.

She said: 'I can't think of a better return to performing than taking to the streets of the West End to perform a song that not only brings a smile to people's faces but also shines a light on a charity close to my heart, Acting for Others...

'The pandemic has been tough for us all and those who work and live in theatreland have suffered greatly, including my own parents...

'My dad works at The Lyceum Theatre on The Lion King and my mum has been working on Tina: The Musical at the Aldwych Theatre. It's great that we can all finally look forward to brighter days!'

A series of impromptu street performances are set to appear across the country ahead of the UK's return to theatres on May 17.

Denise looked typically stunning in a floaty yellow dress featuring bell sleeves and a tie detail round the waist, which she paired with gold heeled sandals.

She styled her golden tresses in loose curls and sported a full coverage make-up look for her performance.

The star was joined by a troupe of eight performers all sporting equally bright colour blocking looks.

Stepping out: Speaking to the MailOnline, Denise, who has been a huge supporter of the charity, called the campaign 'genius' and said she was 'thrilled' to be a part of it

When shows are allowed again, the star, known for her West End alter-ego Roxie Hart, will return to the stage for her cabaret performance at Proud Cabaret.

She said: 'I have been looking forward to getting back to work. Working on this campaign with belVita lets me work in a group of people, which is lovely because haven't done that for a long time.

'Even on the cabaret show I'm on the stage on my own and the acts are all individual. I haven't stood and done group performance in an ensemble in well over a year.'

The cabaret show went ahead briefly as restrictions eased slightly last year, with Denise hailing the 'safe' layout of the theatre as a factor in the reopening.

She added: 'We were very lucky last year that we were able to reopen as early as we did. With all major theatres being affected it was really cool to be able to get back on stage and do the show.

'The layout has safety measures in place, the audience are at tables and the closest one to me was six metres away so I felt very safe doing it.

'Its nice to know I can go back and can return to a venue where we're not running at 50% capacity, it will have a different atmosphere. We have pretty much a full audience.'

The former Eastenders actress added that the pandemic has given her a newfound love of performing, and added she'll 'never moan' about work again.

She said: 'I have this gratitude towards what a joy it is to perform. It doesn't matter what job it is you wake up to, some mornings you're like I can't be bothered but now I don't think I'll ever moan again.

Mood lifter: Crowds gathered to watch the performance as Denise and the troupe performed the song outside the theatre

'I love going to work and I've made most of my friendships there. It was hard having to keep a distance from them, especially because in theatre we're all lovey touchy performers.'

Mathilde Rossignal, belVita Brand Manager, said: 'We are proud to have worked with a hugely talented cast and crew to create something exciting and uplifting.

'We have all missed the joy that live theatre brings to our lives and we are proud to support Acting for Others, a charity that supports theatre workers across the United Kingdom, by donating directly to the charity for each download of the song.'
