Epiphany Glass Studio
Have you heard the tea about Michigan's state-of-the-art hot glass studio?
This premier glass studio and gallery is owned and operated by glass artist, April Wagner. She creates one of a kind sculptures, art and gift items. Her art is colorful and high-quality with a contemorary feel. At her gallery you'll find paperweights and decanters, massive wall art and atrium sculptures as well.
Epiphany Studios is a glass-blowing business located in Pontiac that opened in 2000. Since, business requests have been consistant if not piling up. Some popular items created here include awards, plaques, paperweights, centerpieces, basically anything else that anyone can think of. These days, people are looking for unique gifts to give and not just what is on the shelf at the local decor shop or mall. Wagner listens to what the people want and she creates something that is unique to the item you are looking for. Wheather that is as small as a coaster, wine glass, or Christmas ornament, or something much larger, Wagner and the team like to take on any and every idea and make it come to life.
Wagner isn't the only one that creates this amazing glass work, three other glass blowers and a manager all work to create amazing, high-end pieces. The 4,000-square-foot studio is where the magic happens.
Epiphany Studio is also very involved in the community and giving back. Epiphany Studio partners with local nonprofit organizations, including Focus: Hope, the Michigan Opera Theatre, Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and Detroit Young Professionals. The company created a line of animal-themed products and 20 percent earned from sales goes to the Michigan Humane Society.
Looking for a hands on experience at Epiphany Glass Studio? Workshops are offered here and a great way to see for yourself if you have what it takes to work and create with glass.
Workshops are approximately one-hour long. Here, you will first watch a short demonstration and pick out custom colors. Then with the help of glass artists at the studio, you will make your own glass piece by working with the reheating chamber and hand tools. After the piece of art has cooled down, it will be boxed and ready for you to pick up at a later time.
Workshop registration can be found at www.epiphanyglass.com/store or you can call the studio.
