Manchester United face another goalkeeper problem with third-choice Lee Grant upset because he feels the club have reneged on the offer of a new contract.

Grant expected to sign a 12-month extension but is now set to leave when his current deal runs out at the end of June.

Although the 38-year-old keeper has only made two appearances for United since arriving from Stoke City for £1.5million in 2018, he is a popular member of the squad.

United already face an issue with David de Gea this summer after their £375,000-a-week top earner lost his place to Dean Henderson.

And Sergio Romero has been frozen out since October when his wife publicly criticised United for blocking his transfer to Everton. 

The Argentine still hopes to complete a move to Goodison Park at the end of the season, with Boca Juniors and River Plate among Romero’s other options.
