TOM Cruise and Hayley Atwell performed their own terrifying stunts on the set of Mission Impossible as the stars dashed along the roof of a moving train.

The Sun revealed in December that the thrill-seeking pair had been secretly dating after being spotted holding hands at a London screening.

Today, the couple showed their mettle in a daring scene for the new movie which is currently being filmed in North Yorkshire.

Dressed in black, Tom, 58, runs over a bed of coals for his return to the role of Ethan Hunt, an agent of the Impossible Missions Force, in the Christopher McQuarrie directed flick.

Hayley, who is 20 years his junior, also appears more than capable as she grapples with the shaky train – having already had some action experience from her time as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

More photos reveal the huge filming rig and team of experts attempting to capture the shots as smoke billows around the stars.

The Sun revealed last year that Tom and Hayley had grown close while shooting scenes in Rome and the UK.

A production source said in December: “Tom and Hayley hit it off from day one. 

“Lockdown, and all the difficulties that came with it, brought them even closer and they’ve become fairly inseparable.

“They’ve been meeting up after hours, and she’s been to his London pad. They get on brilliantly, and both seem very happy.”

Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled to premiere in May 2022 and appear on streaming sites two months later.

It sees Tom reprise his role as globe-trotting danger man Hunt, who is handcuffed to Hayley's character in one scene.

Recent photos of Top Gun actor Tom and London-born Hayley in Yorkshire are the first of the couple together since November.
