Australian singer Montaigne reveals she'll be performing in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 'remotely' as the coronavirus pandemic makes her unable to travel to the Netherlands
She's set to represent Australia in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, but Montaigne has revealed she won't be there in person.
In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, the 25-year-old singer announced that she was unable to travel to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, where the contest is being held next month.
Montaigne - real name Jessica Alyssa Cerro - explained that the coronavirus pandemic had made travel from Australia to Europe almost impossible, but said she'd perform remotely instead.

'I regret to inform you all that I will not be travelling to Rotterdam for Eurovision this year. I WILL still be participating remotely. We will send my performance of Technicolour from Australia,' she wrote.

Montaigne also shared a video she recorded for SBS, where she spoke to Eurovision organisers about not being able to attend.
'I actually am still competing at Eurovision this year. I will just be doing it here in Australia instead of at Rotterdam, 'cause you know...' she explained.
Montaigne was supposed to perform at last year's Eurovision, but the event was cancelled amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
While this year's concert is scheduled to go ahead, Montaigne deemed the current situation too risky to travel overseas.
'Naturally, I'm sad that for two years in a row I have been unable to participate in the live spectacle of Eurovision...' she told news.com.au.
'I'm still absolutely stoked that I can present Technicolour this year, in whatever form my final performance will come in.'
