But Rod Stewart was in high spirits as he enjoyed a romantic outdoor dinner with his wife Penny Lancaster and their family at The Ned in London on Saturday.
The music legend, 76, appeared in a sweet snap with his glamorous wife, 50, which she shared to Instagram, gushing they were 'excited' to finally be able to dine out after lockdown restrictions were eased last week.

Given the outdoor setting, Penny was wrapped up in a cosy black coat with a fur stole as she brandished the eatery's menu in her snap.

The model beamed alongside her dapper husband in the snap as they enjoyed dinner together.
Penny captioned her post: 'Very excited to be OUT OUT @thenedlondon with the family.'
In the past six months, Rod has been slowly recovering from knee surgery after years of playing football took a toll on his body.
The hitmaker recently endured a £8,000 ankle fusion surgery and a full knee replacement.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun after appearing on crutches during wife Penny Lancaster's Lorraine interview he said: 'My football days are over.
'I have a bad ankle injury which I suffered from being tackled by my 15-year-old son. I can still kick a ball when needed though.'
Rod also went under the knife last October just months after a successful knee replacement operation and still occasionally uses crutches.
Elsewhere Penny revealed last week she's officially a qualified police officer after getting her City of London badge.
Sharing the exciting news on Tuesday's Loose Women, Penny, 50, told hosts Nadia Sawalha, Jane Moore and Kaye Adams: 'I finally got my warrant card and a City of London police badge!'
Appearing via videolink for a segment titled 'PC Penny', the budding officer looked glamorous in blue shirt as she explained: 'I was able to finish the court. Me and the specials will be out there [on the streets].'
Discussing her determined nature, Penny continued: 'When I say I'm going to do something, I'm normally 100% in it, especially with lockdown training and doing lessons over Zoom.
'But I was able to finish the course. In fact I have a few more lessons to go, but my cohort, and me and the specials will be out there.'
