Frankie and Wayne Bridge both break down in tears as their two sons return to school after Easter holidays

FRANKIE and Wayne Bridge were left in floods of tears as their two sons got ready for their first day at a new school.

The Loose Women panelist and Saturdays singer posted a proud snap of Parker, seven, and Carter, aged five, in their super-smart attire as they headed to fresh surroundings after the Easter break.

Both wore red blazers paired with grey shorts and matching jumpers, standing in the car park as they beamed for the camera.

Frankie, 32, shared the snap and admitted she was hugely emotional, confessing: "First day of their new school… the only tears were mine and @waynebridge03 … so proud of these little sausages 💙

"Im sure they’ll take it all in their stride.

"Wayne and I will worry all day though of course 😍."

Referring to her youngest, she added: "Ps… Carter’s hair bless him 😂."

Earlier this month, Frankie opened up on her mum guilt for missing the pair's last day at their old school because she had been working, in a difficult week which saw her forget to re-order her anti depressants.

During an appearance on ITV's Loose Women she also told how Carter has repeated a school year - and may be forced to do so again - because of the coronavirus lockdown.

She told host Ruth Langsford, Denise Welch and Jane Moore: "I think it's a really hard one isn't it. Like you said, everyone is in a different situation.

"But for me personally, our youngest son Carter, he repeated reception this year. So for me for him to go back and do reception for a whole other year, it wouldn't make sense.

"I feel like where does that end? There's going to be a knock on effect of that further down the line."

The Higher singer revealed that the deadly bug has also made her worry about how much it's affecting their mental health.

She added: "For me, personally, I worry less about their education and more about their mental health because I know my eldest son is really missing all his friends.

Meanwhile Carter is 'scared' of coming into contact with the bug at school

"He finds it hard to understand why he can't see them and my youngest is only five and turned around to me and said 'Mummy I'm really scared' and I was like 'why?'

"He's normally really chilled. He said 'I'm scared of germs, I'm scared of if my friends get too close to my face and they don't listen to their teacher and they don't stay far away enough'.

"I just thought should he really be worrying about stuff like that?

"I'm not particularly funny about things like that at home and yeah I just think how is it going to affect them?"
