'Good morning from a new mum and her demon offspring': Peaky Blinders star Sophie Rundle gives candid insight into motherhood as she shares snap with her baby son

She confirmed she had welcomed her first child with partner Matt Stokoe last week. 

And Sophie Rundle gave a candid insight into motherhood on Friday as she shared a new snap with her baby son.   

The Peaky Blinders actress, 32, took to Instagram as she joked: 'Good morning from a new mum, her excellent hair and her demon offspring.'

In the photo, Sophie posed in her mirror at home as she sweetly held her newborn son on her shoulder and put a 'cute but psycho' GIF over his face. 

She quipped in full on her caption: 'Good morning from a new mum, her excellent hair and her demon offspring who apparently requires no sleep, only the life force of his beloved parents.'

The Peaky Blinders actress confirmed the arrival of the couple's newborn son by sharing a sweet snap on her Instagram page on Sunday.

The TV star, who was recently rumoured to have married her other half, wrote alongside the image: 'Our little boy, who arrived safely and happily over the Easter weekend and changed the game forever.'   

'My little egg. My overflowing, grateful heart.'

Sophie confirmed her pregnancy in February by sharing two pictures of herself holding her blossoming baby bump on her Instagram page.

Posing in a black form-fitting top as she shared her happy news, Sophie wrote: 'New friend on the way. Arriving here with the daffodils and the sunnier days of spring. O high riser, my little loaf. ✨.' 

The news came weeks after Sophie was thought to have tied the knot with fellow actor Matt, also 32, after they were seen wearing wedding bands.

Sophie recently looked the picture of health and happiness as she took a stroll in rain-soaked London on February 18, days after announcing her pregnancy.

She cradled her bump while partner Matt held their retriever, Buddy, with one onlooker saying: 'They were smiling, they were very relaxed in each other's company and just looked so happy.'

The couple, who met and began their relationship in 2016, were both sporting a gold band each during the morning walk.

They were first pictured wearing 'wedding rings' while walking their dog in the park in January, but they are still yet to confirm if they are married.

Soon after their engagement in 2019, Sophie said: 'The whole wedding thing is weird. Everyone expects you to be desperate to be a princess for the day – that's not really my scene.' 

Sophie and Matt, star of BBC period drama The Musketeers and Netflix series Cursed, met on the set of Sky One drama Jamestown.

Since then, Sophie has barely been off our screens, with appearances in Bodyguard, Peaky Blinders, Sky's Urban Myths and Line Of Duty.

Her last role was alongside Matt in horror film, Rose: A Love Story, which he wrote.

Sophie starred alongside Matt in the claustrophobic horror film, in which they played a couple living in a remote woodland cabin.

And before Covid laid her low, she was spotted filming the second series of Gentlemen Jack in West Yorkshire, alongside Suranne Jones.
