A Thai restaurant in Orlando has reopened after receiving an emergency order to shut down from state health inspectors.

According to inspection reports from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation from April 4-10, Thai Island Orlando Restaurant at 2522 S. Semoran Blvd. closed down on April 6 after failing several inspections.

Health officials conducted their initial inspection on April 1, a follow-up on April 2, and two more inspections on April 6 before shutting the restaurant down.

They found 11 issues during the inspections with two labeled as high priority due to roaches and temperature violations.

When officials returned for their first inspection on April 7, Thai Orlando was still in violation but authorities cleared the restaurant to re-open after a second April 7 inspection.

During the same week, 19 restaurants, including Thai Island, in Orange County, four in Seminole, one in Lake, and three in Osceola counties were issued warnings or received complaints.

The Orlando Sentinel reached out to Thai Island Orlando by phone, but have not heard back.

You can view recent restaurant inspections below for all of Central Florida. Those with emergency orders were shut down because of high priority violations, and only reopened after followup inspections signed off on those violations.
