The Los Angeles Angels placed catcher Max Stassi and outfielder Juan Lagares on the 10-day injured list as injuries continue to plague the team.
Tuesday’s moves come on the heels of third baseman Anthony Rendon (groin strain) hitting the IL with a groin strain and outfielder Dexter Fowler (torn ACL) being lost for the season.
Stassi, who turned 30 last month, suffered a left thumb sprain on Monday night. X-rays were negative Monday, but Tuesday’s MRI revealed a sprain.
The Angels, with Kurt Suzuki becoming the team’s primary catcher, recalled Anthony Bemboom for backup duties.
