What Happened to Moses on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS

The character of Moses Winters on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS hasn’t been on the canvas for a while so it’s understandable if fans might need a bit of a refresher. Born on-screen in October 2011, the baby was played by Phoenix and Zion Collins as a toddler until Randall L. Smith took over in 2014. Dax Randall assumed the role in 2016 and made sporadic appearances, his last being in 2019. In March 2021, Y&R announced that Moses was being aged into a teen and the role would now be played by Jacob Aaron Gaines.

When Moses Winters was born, Sofia Dupre was definitely his mother, but there was some question as to his paternity. Although Sofia was married to Malcolm Winters at the time, a paternity test shortly after the baby’s birth proved that Neil Winters was the babydaddy, causing Malcolm to break up with Sofia and leave town. Neil took Sofia and Moses in and planned a christening, naming Tucker McCall and Olivia Winters as the godparents.

On the day of Moses’ christening, Neil proposed to Sofia so they could raise Moses as a proper family. Although reluctant, believing he was just doing it out of obligation as the baby’s father, Sofia eventually relented and they tied the knot. However, Moses’ parents didn’t stay together long as Neil didn’t approve of Sofia’s scheming and Sofia didn’t approve of Neil’s feelings for Harmony Hamilton! Sofia filed for divorce and after landing a dream job in New York City, decided to move there with Moses. Neil threatened to sue for custody but thought better of it and let them go.

In the years that followed, Moses primarily lived with Sofia in New York, but made occasional visits to Genoa City to see his dad. In 2019, Moses returned with Sofia to attend Neil’s funeral. And in 2021, Devon Hamilton and Nate Hamilton were making plans to welcome Moses back to Genoa City. Moses first appeared in the hospital when he paid a surprise visit to Faith Newman, introducing himself and explaining how their parents were friends. Nate was happy to see Moses, who was eager to start observing his cousin, but he sent the teen to Devon’s first.

Moses offered Devon and Nate some relationship advice, and as he started interning at the hospital, also continued checking in with Faith. He even came to her defense when a bully harassed her at school. However, after panicking when Nate suffered an allergy attack, the teen started to second-guess his pursuit of a career in medicine. And when Faith continued to keep him at arm’s length, Moses also started questioning if she felt the same about him as he did about her.

Eventually, Moses and Faith admitted their feelings and began dating. They also shared their first kiss and Faith was happy when Devon convinced Sofia to allow Moses to stay in Genoa City. Moses also decided to leave medicine behind and explore working in the recording industry with Devon’s help. After attending Mariah and Tessa’s wedding in May 2022, Moses was said to have gone off to college.

Stay tuned to see if he ever comes home again!
