David Beckham's Inter Miami and rivals DC United are battling it out for former England international Daniel Sturridge.

Both clubs have made Sturridge's representatives aware of their interest in the 31-year-old ex-Liverpool striker.

And free agent Sturridge is seriously considering whether to become the latest player to cross the pond and be part of the English revolution in America.

Inter Miami owner David Beckham is keen to bring the English striker to Major League Soccer

The forward has a big decision on whether to play in MLS in their forthcoming season or be patient and wait to see if the interest in him from a couple of Premier League clubs is confirmed for the 2021-22 season.

Sturridge has been maintaining his fitness despite being without a club since leaving Trabzonspor last year.

He believes he has unfinished business in the Premier League but is attracted by the prospect of a move to MLS where the standard is constantly evolving.

Miami are undergoing a revamp following the arrival of Phil Neville as coach.

They have already lined up Kieran Gibbs and Ryan Shawcross and have winger Lewis Morgan, who has been capped by Scotland, on their books.

Beckham has not been shy in talking up the world's best talent making the move to Miami to be part of his franchise.

'When we announced Miami, there was always going to be talk about what players we were going to bring in, whether it was Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar,' Beckham told ESPN.

'There was always going to be those discussions. I actually don't think it's a tough one for players to decide, to be honest, because it's a great place.

'Obviously, it's a great city, I feel like we've got a great fan base, but I also understand there's great talent in Miami and South Florida, and I think we have a real opportunity.

'Miami is a city that has that pull on players who have been playing in Europe that are big stars.'
