Katie Price's ex Kieran Hayler praises his 'trouper' fiancée Michelle Penticost after suffering with 'horrendous' morning sickness during pregnancy
Katie Price's ex-husband Kieran Hayler has praised his 'trouper' fiancée Michelle Penticost after suffering with 'horrendous' morning sickness during her pregnancy.
Speaking to New! magazine, the former stripper, 33, also admitted that he didn't tell his ex-wife Katie, 42, about his baby news as she doesn't know what's 'going on in his life' and vice versa.
Kieran and Michelle revealed on Monday that they were expecting their first child together, they are yet to find out the sex and it is due in August.
During the interview, the TV personality revealed that people thought he and his pregnant fiancée Michelle had split up prior to the baby news as she was absent from his social media due to suffering with 'horrendous' morning sickness.
The couple also revealed that knew they wanted a baby together and that they had been trying prior discovering Michelle was pregnant in November.
Talking about her morning sickness, Michelle said: 'It's been awful but I didn't want to take any medication that might risk the health of the baby. Luckily, I'm starting to feel a lot better now and we're really excited to announce our news to the world!'
She added: 'I've been very dehydrated, I couldn't drink. They said if I wanted to go on tablets I could, but the midwife advised me not to unless I wasn't able to eat any food. I was eating even though drinking was hard.'
Kieran praised his wife-to-be for being a 'trouper' and said it has been 'horrendous' for Michelle.
The mother-to-be also gushed over 'super-good' Kieran who has been looking after her and their three children while she stays tucked up in bed.
Michelle has Valentino, 10, from a previous relationship and Kieran has Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, with ex Katie.
The couple revealed that the children are 'so excited' and 'can't wait' for the new arrival which will 'bring the two families together and cement them forever'.
Kieran also revealed that his fiancée will secretly like a baby girl with Michelle admitting that it is because stepdaughter Bunny is 'such a dream'.
The couple admitted that they will 'see what happens' about whether they have a second child, although Michelle admitted that if they welcome a boy they might need to try again for a girl.
Elsewhere, the former stripper, who finalised his divorce from Katie earlier this month, admitted that he only speaks to his ex-wife about their two children - Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, and he didn't tell her about the baby news.
It comes amid claims that Katie was left 'shocked' over the baby news and that she expected a 'heads up' before Kieran went public.
Kieran told the magazine: 'At the end of the day, we're living different lives now. I don't know what's going on in her life, she doesn't know what's going on in my life. All we need to speak about is the kids.'
He added that Katie 'seems happy' with her new boyfriend Carl Woods and it is all that he can 'wish for' after finalising their divorce.
As well as their baby news, the couple are excitedly planning their wedding, which was originally due to take place over the summer but has been postponed due to the pandemic.
Michelle revealed that they didn't want to wait until they were married to have a baby as 'it could have taken years' to get pregnant with Kieran sweetly gushing that it is a 'blessing' to welcome their first child before their nuptials.
Talking about their wedding, Michelle revealed that she has already bought her dress and found bridesmaid gowns.
While Kieran joked that ex Katie is welcome to come to the nuptials 'if she wants to' although he insisted that she 'won't want to'.
It was reported on Monday night that Katie was left 'shocked' after finding out her ex-husband Kieran is set to welcome his third child, days after finalising their divorce.
A source had told The Sun: 'Katie was shocked as they're on good terms and she thought that he'd give her the heads up before going public.'
Katie's representative also confirmed the mum-of-five didn't know, saying: 'Katie was not aware of the news until she was notified of today's headlines.'
MailOnline contacted Katie and Kieran's representatives for further comment.
Kieran has previously commented on his current relationship with Katie, saying they're leading 'different lives' and only need to chat about their two children.
He told OK!: 'We're living different lives now. I don't know what's going on in her life, she doesn't know what's going on in my life. All we need to speak about is the kids.'
Kieran announced the news that his family is expanding on Monday, delightedly saying the baby would 'cement' his family.
Michelle, who is mother to Valentino, 10, told OK! Magazine: 'We're really excited to announce our news to the world. We found out in the last week of November.'
Michelle and Kieran announced their engagement in March 2020 but had to delay their wedding due to coronavirus restrictions.
They have been inseparable since going public with their relationship in July 2018.
Katie recently declared she was 'so happy to be free' as her union with Kieran was finally legally dissolved last week - leaving her free to marry boyfriend Carl.
She revealed her ill-fated marriage to Kieran had finally come to an official end, as they signed divorce papers three years after their split.
The star told The Sun that she and Kieran became officially divorced just days ago, paving the way for her to make Carl husband number four.
She told the publication: 'Finally, we've signed the divorce papers. I'm so happy that I'm free from that marriage. The only good thing that came out of it was my children.
'I can now continue my life with all the badness behind me. All I can do is wish him luck. I can't wait to continue my life with Carl.'
Katie and her ex-husband, who share two children, separated in March 2018 after five years of marriage and had been waiting two years for a divorce.
Over the course of their tumultuous marriage, Katie accused Kieran of cheating with her best friend of 20 years, Jane Pountney, as well as sleeping with her close pal Chrissy Thomas.
In August 2017, she famously claimed Kieran had cheated on her for a third time with their nanny Nikki Brown, resulting in the breakdown of their union.
Katie spilled the beans in an Instagram post in which she wished her ex a 'happy future' and admitted that she'll never give up on her 'fairtytale ending'.
In a heartfelt post shared with her followers, the star praised her ex for 'not wanting anything' from their divorce as she explained their split has been 'amicable'.
She penned last year: 'Finally me and Kieran will be divorced in next few days and how amicable it has been and respect he is the first man not wanting anything from our divorce and wish him a happy future with Michelle.
'And now I'm free and will never give up that happy fairytale ending of one day getting married and having my family unit I desire (sic).'
The divorce is Katie's third as she was wed to Peter Andre, 47, from 2005 to 2009 and cage fighter Alex Reid from 2010 to 2012.
She is also a mother to son Junior, 15, and daughter Princess, 13, with her ex-husband, singer and TV personality Peter. She is also the mother to 18-year-old Harvey with ex Dwight Yorke, 49.
WHAT IS HYPEREMESIS GRAVIDARUM?
Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is defined as severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.
Celebrities who've been open about their own battles with HG include:
- The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton
- Kim Kardashian
- Kourtney Kardashian
- Debra Messing
- Kelly Clarkson
- Tia Mowry
- Tori Spelling
- Amy Schumer
It affects up to two percent of pregnant women.
HG symptoms usually appear between weeks four and six and peak at 9-to-13 weeks.
Up to 20 per cent of sufferers experience symptoms up to weeks 14-to-20, however, most have relief in the later stages.
Unlike morning sickness, which affects up to 80 percent of pregnant women, HG causes severe dehydration and prevents sufferers from keeping any food down.
Other symptoms include:
- Losing five percent or more of their pre-pregnancy weight
- Reduced urination
- Extreme fatigue
- Loss of skin elasticity
- A rapid heart rate
Some HG cases require hospitalization where women can receive IV fluids and nutrition.
HG's cause was thought to be hormonal, however, research suggests it may be due to genetic variations.
