Two major hospitals in Middle Georgia have reconsidered plans to combine

Macon, GA – According to the officials, the coronavirus pandemic is the reason for this update.

According to the statement, Atrium Health Navicent and Houston Healthcare had been working together on establishing – a strategic combination:

“Atrium Health Navicent and Houston Healthcare have mutually agreed to stop pursuing our proposed strategic combination.

The year-long impact of the unforeseen COVID-19 pandemic caused both organizations to reevaluate the parameters of the agreement, and we agreed it was in both of our interests to step away from the combination process.

Both organizations express their gratitude to those who have worked diligently on the proposed combination over the past three years and the many communities and industry leaders and their employees who supported the partnership.”
