Lorraine viewers astonished as she asks Romesh Ranganathan if he 'tucked' in drag
Lorraine Kelly interviewed Romesh Ranganathan on Tuesday after he dressed up in drag in the new series of his show Rob and Romesh VS, which he hosts alongside Rob Beckett.
"Very very good, a noble effort I think," said Lorraine, as a photo of Romesh and Rob in drag popped up on the screen.
Laughing, Romesh said: "I can't believe you put that photo up!
"Rob and I have been long time admirers of drag, and so we thought we would give it a go. We knew it was going to be difficult, I found it both exhilarating and challenging.
"We had to do this performance at the end of the show, I had to learn a dance routine, and one of the things I hadn't anticipated was you put the outfits on, you put the make up on but you've got to move properly.
"I didn't have any movement in my hips, I didn't have any sort of sway, I just looked like a bloke that had put on heels," he added, explaining that his wife helped tutor him in looking more feminine."
Lorraine asked: "I have to ask you though, did you tuck, did you go the whole way?"
Romesh replied: "We did tuck, I would describe it as an intense experience. I was told that after a while being tucked you would stop being aware of it.
"That was a complete lie, I was so aware of it, it's all I was thinking of the whole time."
Romesh also got the nation talking recently when he revealed he eats chocolate biscuits upside down, with the chocolate on the bottom.
Lorraine asked him: "We have to talk about the controversy over the chocolate biscuit, which has divided the nation."
Romesh said: "Well, look, I'm going to be honest with you, Lorraine, I didn't anticipate it kicking off in the way that it has done.
"I have always eaten chocolate biscuits chocolate side down because I just thought that was logical, because you're maximising chocolate to tongue experience, straight away it's a chocolate party.
"So I thought that's how everybody does it, but it turns out I am in the minority.
He added: "I started getting people on social media going, 'Well how do you eat pizza Romesh? Do you eat that topping down, do you? You're talking absolute rubbish!'
"I didn't realise how heated a debate it was going to be, but it went big."
