Jade Goody's ex Jeff Brazier reveals the importance of their son Bobby, 17, not relying on his parents' fame... as teen focuses on his modelling career

His eldest son saw his modelling career go from strength-to strength last year, with the teen even walking the runway for Dolce and Gabbana during Milan Fashion Week.

But as his son Bobby Brazier, 17, focuses on his blossoming modelling career, Jeff Brazier revealed the importance of his boy not to relying on his parents' fame to get ahead in his profession.

As well as Bobby, TV presenter Jeff, 41, is also father to son Freddie, 16, from his former relationship with late reality star Jade Goody, who died from cervical cancer in 2009 aged 27.

In a new interview with the Daily Star, Jeff discusses his son's aspirations to be a model, telling how the teen has been working on his self-development so he can 'hit the ground running' in his career when lockdown ends.

The star praised Bobby for focusing on his goals and preparing himself both physically and mentally for when the fashion industry reopens again.

Bobby, who is signed to modelling agency Unsigned Group, has already walked the runway for Dolce and Gabbana and has starred in an international cover shoot for fashion magazine Man About Town.

But though Bobby has 'invested in himself' and is determined to carve out his own career on the runway, Jeff revealed that he's conscious that Bobby is the son of one of the most iconic and much-publicised reality stars this country had seen.

He went on to say that he's made sure to instill a 'strong work ethic' in both of his sons and is careful to ensure that the boys don't think they can cruise through life just because of who their parents are.

He told the publication: 'We have had this conversation on countless occasions within our house, that it is important to have a skill and something that you are actually being spoken of instead of who your mum and dad are.

'That is really important to him and I have been hitting him with that one from a very young age.

'So whilst I know there will be opportunities for him that will maybe take him in that [showbiz] direction I would hope that modelling, which is his real passion, what he really wants to do, will mean that actually he can be spoken about for what he does for a living as opposed to anything else.'

Jeff added that he wouldn't want to stand in Bobby's way should the teen ever want to speak out about his late mother, stating that it's at his 'own discretion'.

It comes after Jeff admitted that he is concerned about his aspiring model son embarking on a career in the spotlight - just like his late mother Jade.

Speaking to  The Mirror earlier this month, Jeff revealed that he worries about his son stepping into a modelling career, and the 'difficult experiences' this can bring with it.

Jeff said: 'Definitely, as this particular parent who obviously not only had his own difficult experiences but also can cite many occasions when when his mum went through the same.

'I think that I do enough worrying on behalf of both me and his mum when it comes to what he might be subject to.'

He added: 'I just hope that everyone's kind, I hope that he looks after himself and makes good decisions and has always been for him to be to have a skill and a talent to develop those things.'
