19-year-old charged with fatally shooting man in east Charlotte in February, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 19-year-old has been charged with fatally shooting a man in east Charlotte back in February.

Officers responded to the scene at around 8 p.m. on Feb. 19 on Waterford Ridge Drive near East W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting. CMPD initially said it was a death investigation before upgrading it to a homicide.

Police said they found 25-year-old Abdulkhaleq Juhaish in a car with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wajid Kahn was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
