The Masked Singer fans call for Nicola Roberts to replace Rita Ora on main panel
Some fans of The Masked Singer are calling for Nicola Roberts to replace Rita Ora as a permanent panelist on the show.
The Girls Aloud singer Nicola, 35, memorably won the first series of The Masked Singer UK as Queen Bee.
On Saturday night she returned for the second series' grand final as guest panelist alongside comedian Mo Gilligan, presenter Davina McCall, chatshow host Jonathan Ross, and pop star Rita Ora.
However, many viewers at home were so impressed by Nicola that they were calling for Nicola to replace Rita permanently on the show.
Taking to social media, fans pointed out their thoughts on the future of the judging panel.
One viewer penned on Twitter : "Can the #MaskedSingerUK just replace Rita Ora with Nicola Roberts next series pretty pretty please [prayer hands emoji]".
Another wrote: "Petition to permanently replace Rita Ora with Nicola Roberts on the panel #MaskedSingerUK ".
"They should replace Rita Ora with Nicola Roberts #MaskedSingerUK," opined another viewer.
Elsewhere, another person considered: "Next series can we swap Rita Ora for Nicola Queen Bee Roberts? #MaskedSingerUK ".
Another echoed this, writing: "Can we bin Rita Ora off next year and have Nicola Roberts instead?? #MaskedSingerUK ".
Finally, one Masked Singer fan concluded: "i hope nicola steals rita’s job next season #MaskedSingerUK ".
Nicola was originally part of Girls Aloud along with Cheryl, Sarah Harding, Kimberly Walsh, and Nadine Coyle from 2002 to 2009 before the band reunited from 2012 to 2013 for its 10th anniversary.
In addition to the successful girl group, Nicola also released her critically acclaimed solo album Cinderella's Eyes in 2011.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed by The Mirror that Rita Ora was he only panelist on The Masked Singer who would not return for spin-off series The Masked Dancer.
The work trip for Rita comes after she apologised for breaking Covid-19 lockdown rules to attend an illegal 30th birthday party during the national coronavirus lockdown in November last year.
The singer ended up paying a hefty £10,000 fine for her behaviour, which was branded by the police as "selfish".
She subsequently apologised profusely and paid the hefty £10,000 fine for the rule breach, saying: "Even though this won't make it right, I want to sincerely apologise."
An insider told The Mirror: "Viewers have been watching Rita on Saturday nights for weeks, but the Masked Singer was recorded way before her birthday bash at the end of November.
"Such a lot of effort goes into keeping the talent and crew safe while making it – many people felt let down by the way Rita behaved. She has not done herself any favours."
