Victim details alleged assault by Chad Wheeler

The Seattle Seahawks released offensive tackle Chad Wheeler last month amid domestic violence allegations. Now his ex-girlfriend, Alleah Taylor, is speaking out about the incident.

Appearing on "CBS This Morning," Taylor discussed how the violent incident began. She also said that she has bolts and a steel plate in her arm that will be there forever.

"He stood up," Taylor said. "And he told me to bow down. And I asked him why. And he didn't respond. He just told me to bow down again. And I told him no. And he immediately grabbed my neck. And that's when things began."

Wheeler reportedly struggles with bipolar disorder, which can cause episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs. CBS asked Taylor if she witnessed any evidence of mental health issues during the interaction.

"To be honest, I don't know," she said. "He went and ate dinner after doing this to me. And he didn't take the same approach with the cops as he did with me."

Wheeler will likely never play on an NFL team again, but the league could ensure that by handing down punishment, which it has yet to do. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, several players around the league want the NFL to "issue a strong statement against Wheeler and impose significant discipline against him."

The 27-year-old allegedly strangled his girlfriend after she refused to bow to him to the point where he thought she was dead. When she woke up after being unconscious, he reportedly said, "Wow, you're alive?"
