This Morning's Alison Hammond fights back tears after message from Josie Gibson
This Morning's Alison Hammond was reduced to tears today over Josie Gibson's very sweet tribute on her birthday.
The pair started out as roving reporters on the ITV daytime show together before Alison stepped up to permanently host the Friday show last month.
As the birthday girl joined co-host Dermot O'Leary today, she was treated to endless surprises in treats.
In one segment, her pal Josie appeared via video link where she'd decorated her Bristol living room in honour of Alison's special day.
Clad in two party hats, Josie went on to share a gushing poem that she'd written for Alison describing her as "the cherry on her cake and her best mate."
As the camera cut back to Alison in the studio the bubbly star was uncharacteristically lost for words.
"I'm actually getting emosh! I'm so sorry!" apologised in Alison as tears filled her eyes.
Friday's episode of This Morning was dedicated especially to the Birmingham-born star, as she joked she was "25 again."
The show kicked off with a bang full of rainbows and confetti with Alison and Dermot getting up out of their chairs for a socially distanced boogie.
Alison’s first surprise came from Lorraine Kelly who sent across a sparkly cake with the words ‘Be More Alison’ written on the side.
The former Big Brother star then admitted she was not only the one celebrating a birthday today.
“It’s my son’s birthday today too… there he is looking all cool, he’s 16 today. 16 years ago I had that boy and actually I remember being on this show having a scan and they scanned me and told me I was having a boy.
"On this show! I got my belly out and we scanned and there’s Aidan… happy birthday my darling, I’ll be home soon don’t worry!”
