PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Former Pirates right-fielder Dave Parker was a Seven-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner and 1978 MVP.

He is now coming out with a new book detailing his career. COBRA: A Life of Baseball and Brotherhood is set to release in April 2021.

Dave joined the KDKA Radio Morning Show on Thursday to give us a sneak peak of the publication.

The outfielder wants to clear up some of the negative feelings that some had toward him.

"I think I was kind of misunderstood, which led to some negative feeling, but I think its time for me to shed some light on what I did, how I did it and my reasoning for doing it. I think it's time to tell the whole story," Dave said.

He also reacted to the death of Grant Jackson, the Pirates winning pitcher in game seven of the 1979 World Series, who passed earlier this week due to complications from Covid-19.

"Buck was a great guy. He was true big leaguer. He was like having an extra coach, because young pitchers looked up to him. He had a great relationship with everybody that he came in contact with," Parker explains.

He also addresses succeeding Roberto Clemente, how race factored within the game, and the mission of the Dave Parker Foundation.
