Emma Bunton asks Kim Kardashian to join the Spice Girls after she dressed up as Baby Spice
EMMA Bunton thinks Kim Kardashian would be the perfect fit to join the Spice Girls as they get ready up to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
Emma aka Baby Spice invited the famous reality star to join the group on her Heart radio show after Kim dressed up as her.
"Now in the week I was sitting on the sofa, as you do, scrolling through Instagram, when I came across a picture of Kim Kardashian with her hair in pigtails and the caption saying ‘Baby Spice’," she told listeners.
"I mean, I nearly spat my tea out!"
Then speaking directly to the Kardashian superstar, Emma put out the request for Kim to join the group.
"Kim, I was thinking, ok so this year it’s the Spice Girls’ 25th anniversary and we definitely can’t have two Baby Spices in the band, I’m afraid not, but I’m sure the girls wouldn’t mind you joining! Hey?" she said.
"Let me know, and I’ll add you to the WhatsApp group!"
Emma along with the other Spice Girls, Melanie Chisholm, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown and Geri Horner are in a WhatsApp group where they keep in touch and discuss important band business.
Kim K has long been a fan of iconic girl group and recently posed a throwback pic of her dressing up as Posh Spice.
"I'm so thankful that me and my friends were the Spice Girls for our high school talent show!," Kim captioned the post.
"The Spice Girls got me through a lot!"
Kim also described the Spice Girls as "my obsession" in a 2012 tweet.
Spice Girls will celebrate their 25th anniversary this year after their debut single Wannabe changed the cultural landscape forever in 1996.
Mel B, 45, has hinted the group is planning something to mark the occasion and would love to do a tour "as soon as the rules allow it".
"People need a bit of entertainment. Music brings people together. I would love it - as soon as the rules allow it, then yeah," Mel told The Mirror in January.
The group reformed for a sell-out tour in 2019, but Victoria declined to participate, with fans hoping she would step out on stage this year.
"Until the virus gets under control I don't think anyone can securely say 'I'm definitely going on tour'," Mel said.
"When it comes to putting on a show or concert, I don't know how people are going to do it without the proper guidelines and information, because things change on a weekly basis.

"Us lot are definitely up for it - it's just a case of timings and safety. I'm always itching to get back on to the stage."
