Game Of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie to star alongside Tom Sturridge in DC Comics series The Sandman for Netflix
She has starred in arguably the greatest fantasy series of all-time in Game Of Thrones.
And it looks like Gwendoline Christie is ready to conquer the comic book universe next.
The 42-year-old actress is set to star in DC Comics series The Sandman for Netflix alongside Tom Sturridge it was announced on Thursday.

It is quite the impressive cast which also includes Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar.
According to Deadline the series is described as 'a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven.
'The Sandman the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he tries to fix all the cosmic and human mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.'
The publication also included several character descriptions including that Christie will be portraying Lucifer, the Ruler of Hell, who is the arch-nemesis of the protagonist in the series.
She famously portrayed Brienne of Tarth from season two to the eighth and final season from 2012 to 2019.

Sturridge, 35, is the titular character Dream who is the lord of dreaming.
Acheampong is Lucienne, chief librarian and trusted guardian of Dream's realm.
Holbrook will be portraying The Corinthian, an escaped nightmare who wishes to taste all that the world has in store, while Dance is Roderick Burgess, Charlatan, blackmailer and magician.Chaudry is Abel and Bhaskar is Cain, the first victim and the first predator, residents and loyal subjects of the Dream Realm.
Author Neil Gaiman created the comic book in 1988 and released a statement about the exciting news which began: 'For the last thirty-three years, the Sandman characters have breathed and walked around and talked in my head. I’m unbelievably happy that now, finally, they get to step out of my head and into reality.
'I can’t wait until the people out there get to see what we’ve been seeing as Dream and the rest of them take flesh, and the flesh belongs to some of the finest actors out there.
'This is astonishing, and I’m so grateful to the actors and to all of The Sandman collaborators — Netflix, Warner Bros., DC, to Allan Heinberg and David Goyer, and the legions of crafters and geniuses on the show — for making the wildest of all my dreams into reality.'
An adaptation of The Sandman was an idea that has been in the works for quite a while and initially was set to be a feature film directed and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt before he stepped down due to creative differences.
