Lee Mack admits he is so scared of flying he travels ALONE by car while his wife and kids jet to their family holidays
Lee Mack has revealed is so terrified of flying he choses to travel alone while his wife and three children fly separately to their holiday destination.
The comedian, 52, told how while his wife Tara and their kids jet to family getaways such as Barcelona and Switzerland, he choses to make his own way because he refuses to travel unless he is the driver, reports the Mirror.
The Not Going Out star also revealed he even drove alone while out touring with Rob Bryden, 55, and David Mitchell, 46, last year because Rob also insisted on being behind the wheel.
Lee said: 'If we go on holiday - and we have done for the last couple of years – Tara has flown with the kids and I've met them there.
'And I'm including Barcelona, I'm including Switzerland. You know why - they won't let me sit up front and drive it.
'I've asked. I've said "yeah, of course I'll fly - can I drive?" and they said "no, and you don't drive a plane, you fly it" 'And I've said "forget it then, I'll go in the car".
Lee and Tara share their three children Arlo, 17, Louis, 15, and daughter Millie.
Lee admitted that he is happy to travel on a train without being the driver, which was his method of transport for reaching Barcelona, Spain, last year.
Lee hasn't flown since he had to get back from a a Children in Need trip to Turkey in time for his wife's 40th birthday.
The TV personality was forced to go on a special British Airways course in order to calm him down ahead of the journey back to the UK.
Lee hit a block in the road while taking part in the Around the World in 80 days fundraiser, which involved travelling without flying.
The funnyman admitted he was 'stupid enough' not to realise that despite travelling overland during their voyage out there - he failed to consider his journey back.
Although Lee considered the train he realised that this mode would mean he wouldn't arrive home until the afternoon of his wife's birthday.
