Almost 70,000 chickens have died in a fire on a Pennsylvania farm overnight.

According to WFMZ TV, the fire happened at a farm in Berks County around 2am Thursday morning.

Officials said two buildings burned down and one other was damaged in the blaze.

The Assistant Chief for the Shartlesville Fire Company said they had difficulty getting water to the fire due to sludge in ponds that they normally use.

According to the television station, the same farm experienced a fire in 2019 in which 37,000 chickens were killed and one in 2015 which caused the loss of a building.
