Nancy Bush Ellis, the only sister of late former President George H.W. Bush, has passed away.

Her son, Alexander Ellis III told The New York Times that Ellis died on Sunday at an assisted living facility in Concord, Massachusetts.

He revealed that the cause of death was complications related to coronavirus.

She was 94.

The outlet notes that Ellis tested positive for the novel virus on December 30th as she was being admitted to the hospital with a fever.

Though her symptoms went away, her health did not improve.

The George & Barbara Bush Foundation also issued a statement announcing the death.

“We are sad to share that President Bush’s beloved sister, Nancy Bush Ellis, has passed away. Our condolences and prayers are with the Ellis and Bush families as we remember a remarkable woman who brought joy and light to the world,” it read.

Even though she was a Democrat, Ellis was remembered as being supportive of her brother and her nephew, George W. Bush.

She is survived by her daughter Nancy Walker Ellis Black and three sons, along with her brother, Jonathan James Bush, 89. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and her 11 great-grandchildren.

The former President Bush passed away in 2018. Her other two brothers, Prescott S. Bush Jr and William H.T. Bush, died in 2010 and 2018, respectively.
