Are Preppers all Conspiracy Theorists?

2020-12-26

A good friend of mine commented a few weeks ago that there was no need to prep unless you were a conspiracy theorist. To be honest, the comment shocked me and made me think.

Are preppers all conspiracy theorists? Probably not. But, I am sure that some are. There are enough different beliefs in this country to include lots of different ideas about why prepping is important.

So, if you are one of those people who think that being prepared with food, water, medical supplies, water purification tablets, and emergency supplies is silly, keep reading for a few reasons that might change your mind.

Why should I prep?

There are many different reasons to be prepared. And, you might be surprised to learn that conspiracy theorists prep for many of the same reasons that you should have an emergency preparedness plan.

So, whether or not you are preparing for a Doomsday Scenario, you should still take time to be prepared to take care of your family in need.

Weather emergencies

People who believe in an upcoming polar shift are often seen as conspiracy theorists. And, while this planet may not shift its poles next year, I guarantee that there will be weather emergencies like floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes that make prepping necessary.

What happens if one of these weather emergencies happens in your area and it impacts your ability to leave your home or forces an immediate evacuation?

Whether you are prepping for a polar shift, an increase in chemtrails to manipulate the weather, or the next flood in low lying areas of the country, they are all-weather emergencies.

Volcanic eruptions

Another popular conspiracy theory is that the government knows exactly when Yellowstone National Park will erupt causing a massive volcanic eruption. Whether or not this is true, there are volcanic eruptions throughout the world almost every day.

The recent eruption at Halemaumau Crater in Hawaii is just one example of a very valid reason to consider putting together an emergency preparedness plan.

UFO crashes

Is Area 51 a highly classified US Air Force base that is housing UFO crashes? I'll leave that one up to you. Many conspiracy theorists believe in UFOs and aliens. And, they believe that there have been crashes in that area that the government is hiding.

While they may be prepping for an alien invasion or crash in their area, what would happen if an airplane crashed in your area? Would you be prepared enough to evacuate if necessary?

Did you know that there are several hundred airplane crashes every single year? If you live in the path of an airport, this is a reason to be prepared in case an emergency evacuation is necessary. Make sure that you have a go-bag on hand just in case you need to evacuate.

New World Order

There are many different conspiracy theories about the New World Order including the Georgia Guidestones, the Biblical End Times, the Bilderberg Group, and FEMA concentration camps. But, whether or not they are true is highly debated.

While there may or may not be a plan in place to change how the world is ruled, there are many changes to our government that impact our lives. What happens if you need to leave the area you live in due to political unrest or rioting? Are you prepared to either keep your family safe where you are or move them somewhere better?

Having an emergency preparedness plan in place can make the process of leaving for safety a little bit less stressful.

Deep State takeover

Is there a Deep State conspiracy to take over our country? Theories about the Illuminati, FEMA work camps, QAnon, and 9/11 abound. But, even if you don't believe them, there are reasons to be prepared.

An economic collapse has happened several times in our history from the Great Depression of the 1920s and 1930s to the Great Recession of the 1980s. What would happen to your family if you or you and your spouse both lost your jobs?

Do you have a financial cushion? Have you stocked up on food, pet supplies, and other necessities to cover a several month time period in economic unrest?

Or, will you need to rely on whatever government aid may or may not exist in your time of need?

Disease and pandemics

A few years ago, we never would have believed that a global pandemic would be causing lockdowns, massive unemployment, and thousands of deaths across the country. We certainly would have considered people who did conspiracy theorists.

But, COVID-19 is a reality and far too many people weren't prepared with adequate finances, stockpiles of food and medical supplies, or anything else to help get them through weeks of quarantine.

Are all preppers conspiracy theorists?

No, but what we do believe is the possibility of events happening that we cannot control. History has proven that unexpected emergencies do happen whether they are man-made or natural disasters.

So, whether or not you believe the conspiracy theories, being prepared for the unexpected just makes good sense.
