A driver was stopped on Chestnut Road April 25 after police received several calls from motorists reporting he was driving “all over the road” on Interstate 77. The driver failed field sobriety tests and registered nearly three times the legal limit for intoxication on a breath test and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired.

Police responded to a Pinecrest Drive residence at 6:47 p.m. April 17 for a fight between two men. One of the men said he came to the apartment complex to see his children and the other man met him at the door and punched him. He added the man reportedly smashed his windshield with a scooter and hit him several times with the scooter. The other man said the first man tried to force his way into the apartment and attacked him. Both men suffered injuries received medical attention at the scene and one was taken to the hospital, the other declining medical attention.

Police investigating a disabled vehicle May 19 found the owner to have a suspended license and issued a citation. Police arrested three Lorain residents at 11:05 a.m. April 17 when police responded to a Walmart store for a theft in progress. The suspects were found with approximately $700 worth of stolen items and charged with criminal trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property, reports said. Avon Police added that Lorain and Amherst Police may have active investigations on the arrested individuals as well.

ELYRIA, Ohio — A man was killed and a woman was seriously wounded Monday afternoon in a shooting at an apartment complex, police say. A 21-year-old male suspect in the shooting, Chi Sean Oglesby of Elyria, was arrested at about 9 p.m. Monday in East Cleveland. Oglesby is being held in the Lorain County Jail without bond.

WESTLAKE, Ohio – OVI crash: Regency Place. Officers at 12:45 p.m. on May 9 responded to Regency Place near the intersection of Regency Circle for a one-vehicle crash. A Buick SUV struck two mailboxes and a light pole on the street. One mailbox was a brick structure that was destroyed.

After police were called out for a report of possible shots fired around 2 p.m. on May 15, they checked the area and learned a short time later that a resident was using goose blanks -- in some cases, similar to a starter’s pistol -- to scare off unwanted birds.

On May 9 at 8:55 a.m. a road rage incident was reported on Interstate 90. An officer was able to locate and stop the suspected driver. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed that the driver was twitching, swearing, and slurring his words. CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 14-year-old girl was killed in her bed after someone fired several shots into her home in the city’s Glenville neighborhood on Sunday, police say. The girl was shot about 11:58 p.m. at her house on Columbia Avenue, near East 102nd Street. Cleveland firefighters administered aid to the teenager, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

AKRON, Ohio — A 35-year-old man is in the hospital in critical condition after he was found in the middle of a West Akron street with a gunshot wound, police say. The shooting reportedly occurred just after 1 a.m. Saturday in the area of Frederick Boulevard and Slosson Street. Police say the victim suffered at least one gunshot wound to the upper body, but it’s unclear what led to the shooting.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A suspect opened fire Monday afternoon on the city’s East Side, striking at least two victims in a burst of gun shots, authorities say.
