FA Charged with Murdering Client Waives Wire Fraud Preliminary Hearing

A Texas financial advisor charged with murder last month has waived his detention hearing on wire fraud charges, according to local news reports. A federal grand jury indicted Keith Ashley, 48, of Allen, Texas, on six counts of wire fraud on November 12, and he was taken into federal custody on November 13 on those charges, which related to an alleged Ponzi scheme involving at least nine victims. Days later, the Carrollton Police Department charged Ashley with murder for the shooting death of James "Jim" Seegan, 62, of Carrollton, Texas. Seegan was one of the nine alleged Ponzi scheme victims.
