A few of New York’s minor political parties could be put out of business after the presidential election thanks to a new state law pushed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The law requires every political party to garner at least 130,000 votes, or 2 percent of the total vote, for president — whichever is higher — to maintain statewide ballot status every two years.
