Summer Reading Programs Around the CSRA

Summer can be busy and full of activity, but it’s there is always time for relaxation and a good book! Libraries across the CSRA are encouraging your kiddos to keep their mind sharp over the summer by participating in their summer reading program. This year’s theme is Oceans of Possibilities!

Augusta-Richmond County Library Summer Reading Program

Richmond County residents of all ages are invited to participate in our annual Summer Reading Program. Read, earn prizes (while supplies last), and participate in a variety of fun and free programs over the summer!  You may even win one of our weekly drawings!

You can pre-register at Beanstack App starting May 22, 2023.  Starting June 1st, registration will be open at all Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System (ARCPLS) locations.  All participants can log their activities virtually at arcpls.beanstack.org or on a paper log that can be obtained at any of our six locations.

Kids ages 0-18 who read or are read to at least 20 minutes a day can earn great prizes.

After logging 10 days of reading (doesn’t have to be consecutive), kids earn a free book or another prize of their choice, up to 3 times over the summer (while supplies last).

Kids who read at least 30 days by July 31 will receive a completion prize (while supplies last) and will be entered to win grand prizes! The grand prize drawings will be held during the first week of August 2023.

Greater Clarks Hill Regional Library System

The GCHLR (Columbia County) Summer Reading Program begins on May 17 thru July 19. All summer reading logs will be submitted online. Ages Babies – 5th Grade.

Minutes Challenge
Each time you read, log your time. For every 100 minutes you read, you will earn a badge. Collect all of the badges to complete this challenge (1000 minutes). Receive a medal and a book for your home library!


Books Challenge
Each time you read, log your books. Collect all of the badges to complete this challenge (30 books). Receive a medal and a paperback book for your home library!

Aiken County Library System Summer Reading

May 20 to August 1

Reading 20 minutes a day keeps the summer slide away! Everyone who reads at least 450 minutes will be entered into a gift card drawing at their library. Kids and teens can also pick up a prize. Pick up a paper reading log or track your reading at abbe.beanstack.org
