Joseph Robinette "Joe" Biden, Jr. is an American politician who is the Democratic presidential candidate for the 2020 election. He served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. Before becoming the Vice President, he had represented Delaware as a United States Senator from 1973 to 2009. Born in a middle-class family in Pennsylvania, Joe Biden learned the value of hard word, determination and perseverance from his parents who always encouraged him to stand up for himself and bounce back after failures. As a child he used to stammer but he overcame this problem by memorizing and reciting long passages in front of the mirror. He went on to study law and also developed interest in politics. He joined the Democratic Party and became active in politics alongside managing his legal career. He won the 1972 U.S. Senate election in Delaware when he was just 29 and assumed office the next year. A devastating family tragedy threatened to end his career, but he persevered on bravely. He proved to be a popular senator and set his ambitions higher. He was selected as the running-mate for presidential nominee Barack Obama in 2008 and the Obama-Biden ticket went on to win the election. They won again in 2012. In 2019, Joe Biden announced his bid for the candidacy of the Democratic presidential nominee for 2020 election. In 2020, he was chosen as Democratic Party's presumptive nominee for the presidential election. Joe Biden has picked Kamala Harris as his vice presidential candidate and he is his running against the incumbent, Donald Trump.
Mitch Mcconnell
Mitch McConnell is a US Republican senator who has been a minority as well as majority party leader. He has played a significant role in US politics and decision making. He did his Bachelor of Arts with honours in political science and did law from the University Of Kentucky College Of Law. He enlisted in the US Army Reserve but had to be discharged on medical grounds after five weeks of training at Fort Knox. He started his political career by interning under Senator John Sherman Cooper and was elected as the Jefferson County Judge/Executive. He was elected to the US senate by a narrow margin against Walter Dee Huddleston of the Democratic Party and became the first Republican to win in Kentucky after more than a decade. He is known to be a moderate who supports causes for political gains rather than ideology and has swayed to the right from his earlier stand. He has gained the reputation of being the villain rather than a popular leader. He has three children from his previous marriage to Sherrill Redmon and is presently married to Elaine Chao who is the Secretary of Transportation under Donald Trump. Though he is an influential leader, he has to constantly guard against his opponents in the opposition as well as in his own party.
Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter was the 39th President of America and aspired to establish a government which was both, competent and compassionate. He won the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2002. This farmer-turned-politician was determined to make a difference to the country which was suffering from energy costs, mounting inflation, and continuing tensions. Though he found it immensely difficult to keep up with the rising expectations, he tried his best to restore the faith of his citizens in the government. Furthermore, he also tried to make United States a symbol of peace and promoted human rights as a centrepiece of foreign policy. Following his term as the president, he remained publicly active and was involved in several humanitarian efforts. His post presidency period was extremely productive - he worked for a charitable organization, ‘Habitat for Humanity’ and also participated in diplomatic talks to forge an agreement with North Korea. He was further involved in resolving international disputes. For his humanitarian efforts and for being a travelling ambassador of peace, he was awarded the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize, which is a testimony to his reputation as one of the most active ex-presidents in the history of the US.

Mark Randall Meadows (born July 28, 1959) is an American politician who is the 29th and current White House chief of staff. He previously served as the U.S. representative for North Carolina's 11th congressional district from 2013 to 2020. A member of the Republican Party, Meadows chaired the House Freedom Caucus from 2017 to 2019. He was considered one of Trump's closest allies in Congress before his appointment as Chief of Staff
Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris is an American attorney cum politician who has been picked by Joe Biden as his running mate for the 2020 U.S presidential election. She is the first African American and the first Asian American to be chosen as the vice-presidential candidate of a major party. Kamala Harris has been serving as the junior US Senator from California since 2017. She serves on the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee, the Committee on the Judiciary, the Committee on the Budget, and the Select Committee on Intelligence. An associate of the Democratic Party, she is the first South Asian-American woman and the second African-American woman to serve as a USA senator in the nation’s entire history. During her extensive career as a politician, Kamala Harris has always tried to adopt measures that encourage social progressivism. For instance, as San Francisco’s district attorney, she steadfastly refused to seek the death penalty for a man accused of murdering a police officier as she is opposed to capital punishment. Kamala Harris is one of those few politicians whose mission is to reform the entire system from within rather than by crusading from the outside. Born to a Tamil Indian physician mother and a black Stanford University professor, she grew up in an inter-cultural home. Always interested in social justice, she went on to become a lawyer. Following a successful legal career, she ventured into politics. Kamala Harris was in the race for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2020 election, but later on opted out of the race, citing lack of funds.
Gerald Ford
Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. was the 38th President of the United States who served from 1974 to 1977. Prior to becoming the president he was the Vice President serving under President Richard Nixon. He became the president following Nixon’s resignation in 1974 following investigations into Nixon's involvement in the Watergate scandal. Ford inherited a government mired in controversies and came to the helm as the President at period of great political turmoil. The United States was going through a period of skyrocketing inflation and recession in the 1970s and the American economy was at a low. One of the immediate actions he took upon assuming office was to create the Economic Policy Board by Executive Order in order to control the inflation and set the pace for economic growth. He also took steps to control the rising rate of unemployment which had reached nine percent by 1975. He was not too keen to run for the office in 1976 though he reluctantly agreed. He was defeated by former governor of Georgia, Jimmy Carter, in the presidential election and stepped down from office in 1977 after having served an 895-day presidency. He remained active in politics for long after stepping down from presidency. Ford lived longer than any other U.S. president, dying at the age of 93 years and 165 days

Donald John Trump Jr. (born December 31, 1977) is an American businessman and former reality television personality. He is the eldest child of US president Donald Trump and his first wife Ivana. A fourth-generation businessman (following his great-grandmother Elizabeth, grandfather Fred, and father), Trump Jr. currently serves as a trustee and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, running the company alongside his younger brother Eric. During their father's presidency, the brothers continued to do deals and investments in foreign countries, as well as collect payments in their U.S. properties from foreign governments, despite a pledge that they would not do so. He also served as a boardroom judge on his father's TV show The Apprentice. Trump Jr. has also been active politically, serving in his father's presidential campaign. He had a meeting with a Russian lawyer, who promised damaging information about the campaign of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. He is notorious for promoting conspiracy theories and false information. As of May 2019, Trump Jr. is under investigation by the United States attorney for the District of Columbia, with Ivanka and Eric Trump, for their role in their father's inauguration. He is also under investigation, along with Allen Weisselberg, for a possible role in concealing hush money payments and signed checks reimbursing per Michael Cohen regarding his father and the Trump Organization, by the Southern District of New York.
John Smith
John Smith was an English soldier and explorer who played a significant role in the establishment of Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in North America. While in North America he led an extensive exploration of the regions surrounding Virginia and mapped the Chesapeake Bay area and New England, becoming the first English explorer to do so. He was an expert at drawing maps and this skill of his greatly helped the English in exploring new areas for colonizing in the New World. Born into a farming family, he developed an early interest in travelling and exploring. His father died when he was 16 and he left his home at around this time to seek out his future. He traveled to France and joined the French army in their fight for Dutch independence from the Spanish King Phillip II. After returning to England and studying horsemanship, he went to Hungary to fight the Turks. Following his capture by the enemy, ill treatment and subsequent escape from his tormentors, he returned to England. His experiences further fuelled his love for adventure and he became involved with the Virginia Company which sponsored an expedition to North America. The English reached Jamestown in 1607 and Smith played a significant role in establishing the territory as an English colony

Rush Hudson Limbaugh III, popularly known as Rush Limbaugh is a famous American radio personality, political commentator and author. He currently hosts his own talk show on ABC Radio Networks called ‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’ — the highest-rated talk-radio program in the United States. In 2008, he signed a contract extension through 2016, worth $400 million . The contract broke records for any broadcast and put him right amongst the highest paid people in the U.S. media. Starting a career in radio was a challenge for Limbaugh as he belonged to a family of professional lawyers and his father aspired for him to get into the same league as everyone else in the family. But he showed consistent passion towards radio since a young age and worked many radio jockey jobs in various cities of America. It was his job as a talk show host at KFBK in Sacramento, California, that made him one of the top radio hosts of the city, which is why ABC Radio hired him. Limbaugh’s conservative views and strong criticism of liberal policies and politicians is extremely famous among his listeners and he has not only publicized his opinions through radio but also through television and books — ‘The Way Things Ought to Be (1992)’ and ‘See, I Told You So (1993)’.
