AUSTIN (KXAN) — A few spots of light rain and drizzle will be all we’ll get from the high humidity levels most of us are currently sitting in. But that changes late week.

Cloudy skies with pockets of fog/drizzle/mist/light rain can be expected through the morning and early afternoon today. Drier skies with a few peeks of sunshine are likely by late afternoon and evening.

Southerly winds will continue to funnel higher humidity into Central Texas late week, also helping to continue this week’s warming trend.

Plenty of moisture to work with over the next several days

Two upper level storm systems, generally staying north of us, will push the seasonal West Texas dryline closer to our area Friday through Sunday. This boundary, in combination with a bit of lift from the storm system themselves, will increase storm coverage and intensity late week into the weekend.

Very low severe storm threat late day Thursday
Low severe risk for isolated storms Friday
Possibility of severe weather continues on Saturday

Rain totals are likely to be anywhere from 0.25″ to 1.5″ between Friday and Sunday. Afternoon highs will stay in the 80s with overnight lows falling to the upper 60s and low 70s.
