NEWPORT, N.H. (WCAX) - New Hampshire authorities have arrested four people in connection with the “untimely death” of a local man and say that one suspect remains at large.

Newport Police say Mark Hudson, 40, was reported missing on Tuesday. After a multi-agency search effort, police on Wednesday night announced Hudson’s body had been found in a wooded area off of Paradise Road in Newport, New Hampshire.

Police on Thursday arrested Newport residents Laural Ayotte, 50; Christopher Ayotte Jr., 27; Jacob Ayotte, 19; and Candace Fontaine, 31. They say Ryan Palmer, 32 of Sunapee, is wanted by police. They say all five conspired to remove Hudson’s body and other evidence from the scene of his death.

All five face charges of conspiracy to commit falsifying physical evidence and conspiracy to commit abuse of corpse.

Hudson’s cause of death has not yet been determined.
