How you can vote to put Newport on the map in USA Today’s top 10 Aquarium list

KENTUCKY ( FOX 56 ) — Kentucky’s water wonderland, the Newport Aquarium, has been nominated for a spot as one of USA Today’s top 10 aquariums, and your vote can help them make the cut.

According to USA Today, a panel of experts has curated a list of 20 nominees from around the country, choosing aquariums based on criteria such as exhibit quality as well as the role the facilities play in animal conservation and research.

While the list of nominees features some stiff competition from around the country, the Newport Aquarium recently announced that they are currently celebrating their 25th year of operations and recently opened their newest exhibit just under a month ago, titled “Ring of Fire: World of the Octopus.”

Newport Aquarium has captured the hearts of visitors over the past 25 years, with exhibits spanning from shark rays to their baby penguins .
