UC Basketball Offers Local 2026 Guard Taylen Kinney

Kinney can slam hoops with the best of them.

CINCINNATI — UC basketball offered a rising 2026 star from Newport, Kentucky. Newport point guard Taylen Kinney is on the program's radar.

It is part of Kinney's growing offer list to go with Jackson State, Louisville, College of Charleston, Illinois, and Texas A&M.

There are no 2026 rankings right now, but Kinney could definitely crack those ranks when they file in. He has bounce for days and fits the ideal mold of a downhill guard in Wes Miller's offense.

He has a nice feel for sweet spots on the floor and can get his jump shot off in a hurry off the dribble. Kinney averaged 13.9 points per game, 4.6 assists per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, and shot 46% from the field last season.
