An NBA investigation into Oklahoma City Thunder G/F Josh Giddey has reportedly been closed, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski announced on Thursday.

Giddey, 21, had previously been the subject of a different investigation - one carried out by the Newport Beach Police Department - after allegations involving the OKC player arose in late 2023. Roughly four months ago, that probe was "unable to corroborate any criminal activity" against Giddey, Wojnarowski reports.

The NBA has now closed its investigation after coming to a 'similar' conclusion.

"ESPN Sources: Four months after Newport Beach (Calif) police announced a probe had been 'unable to corroborate any criminal activity' against Oklahoma City’s Josh Giddey, 21, involving online allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl, the NBA has closed its own investigation into matter after coming to a similar conclusion," Wojnarowski reported.

Back in January, Newport Beach police announced it had conducted a "thorough and exhaustive examination" into the claims, which arose online in late 2023 and alleged that Giddey had an inappropriate relationship with a minor.

"The Newport Beach Police Department is committed to ensuring that accurate information is disseminated to the public, while also ensuring the rights of all those involved," NBPD said in a statement earlier this year, via NBC News .

Giddey and the Thunder were eliminated from the playoffs in the West semifinals last week.
