Emergency Response Teams called in on Newington burglary

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Emergency Response Teams were called in to respond to a burglary at a Newington gun store Saturday morning. 

An employee at the Hoffman Gun Center (2686 Berlin Turnpike) reported a burglary at 7:40 a.m., according to Newington police. Officers secured the area and, following an investigation, had reason to believe the suspect was still inside the store. 

The NPD Emergency Response Team was activated and, utilizing tactical resources, the ERT entered the building and determined that the suspect had left before police arrived. 

Further investigations revealed that the suspect made off with several guns as well as cash.
