Police in Orange County launched an investigation into a deadly incident that happened Saturday on the Newburgh waterfront.

Detectives on the scene confirmed that two Jet Ski operators collided in the Hudson River in the afternoon, just south of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.

Both were rushed to the hospital, where police said one of them was pronounced dead.

Witnesses said they heard a loud bang in the river and then saw two people in the water next to the Jet Skis.
