State crime stats: Shootings down in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie

There was one shooting with an injury in Newburgh through January and February. There were three reported around this time last year.

There have been fewer shootings so far this year in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie, according to stats released by the state Division of Criminal Justice Services.
There was one shooting with an injury in Newburgh through January and February. There were three reported around this time last year. 
Poughkeepsie data also shows one so far this year. There were three at this time in 2022.
The data also shows drops in people killed by gun violence.
