Boy, 17, busted for bringing gun to NYC high school: cops

A 17-year-old boy was busted for bringing a gun to his Staten Island high school on Wednesday, cops and law enforcement sources said.

The boy was found to be packing a 9 mm firearm when school safety agents searched him around 10:15 a.m. inside Curtis High School on Hamilton Avenue in St. George, authorities and sources said.

Agents initially thought the teen was carrying a knife in the school after they tipped off on Tuesday – but he had already left the building before they started looking for him, the sources said.

The gun was discovered when they caught up to him on Wednesday, according to the sources.

It was not immediately clear whether the weapon was loaded.

He was taken into custody and had not been charged by the late afternoon, cops said.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
