She said “I do” to a motherless marriage.

A bride walked down the wedding aisle without her mom in attendance because she ran late on the big day.

Taking to Reddit , the newlywed stated that “the day of the wedding started out as they normally do,” before things took an unexpected turn.

“After I was almost ready by noon, my mom had to run back to the hotel 20 minutes away to change and come back with my grandma and family friend,” the woman explained.

The ceremony was set to start at 2 p.m. — but the mom hadn’t returned to the venue with the grandmother and friend.

As time went on, and the officiant had another wedding to make, a drastic call had to be made .

“Next thing I know I’m walking myself down the aisle with no mom, grandma, or family friend in sight,” the bride wrote. “The ceremony continues and it’s over before we know it.”

I was disinvited from a wedding after spending $1K on flights — was the bride in the wrong?

Finally, 45 minutes after the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, the mom, grandma, and other guest arrived.

“I proceed to go and tell them it’s over and that they missed it and that 2 [p.m.] meant 2 [p.m.],” she stated.

    “My mother immediately became hostile.”

The matriarch came up with a bevy of excuses including that a bakery didn’t have buns ready and that a crossing train delayed their return trip.

“My personal favorite was ‘It’s your fault you didn’t call or text to see where we are,'” the bride recalled.

“I found out the real reason why they were late,” she then revealed. “She [the mom] wasn’t done getting herself ready therefore holding up everyone.”

Although the mom pins the blame on her daughter, the internet certainly does not.

“If she could receive a text, she could send a text. It’s not up to the bride or groom to keep track of family on their wedding day,” one commented.

“It was your wedding day, she’s old enough to know how to tell time, and she was just assuming that the world would stop so she could get her hair right. She’s a raging [a–hole],” another added.
