Around 3:10 pm on Monday, the Emergency Service Unit (ESU) was called about a distraught woman who was trying to jump off of a building, according to police.

The NYPD posted a minute-long video on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing people the effort it took to get the woman, whose identity has not been released, to safety.

Bodycam footage immediately showed the Emergency Service Unit officers rushing to the woman who was crouching on the ledge of a skyscraper.

"We're right here! We're not going anywhere!" one of the Emergency Service Unit officers is heard saying.

A police officer was holding her arm between an open space of glass panels, to keep her from falling.

Two other officers climbed over the large panels while wearing a safety harness and ropes to try to rescue the woman and bring her back to safety.

While speaking with her, they began to give her words of encouragement during this very intense time.

"You alright? We're going to help get you back over this thing," one officer is heard saying.

POLICE SAVE AGAIN

Last month, the U.S. Sun spoke to Burton and Natasha Brooks who revealed that getting stopped by the police potentially saved their son's life.

The parents explained that they were pulled over for breaking the speed limit while heading to the airport.

"We were 10 minutes into the journey and saw blue lights and sirens behind us. We weren't really going that fast so thought we might be able to get out of it," Natasha remembered.

The police asked for the couple's license and registration, and when he went back to his car, they noticed something strange was happening to their son.

"He goes back to his own car to write us a ticket then my son starts banging on the back of my seat and clutching at his throat like he's choking," the scared mom recalled.

"I thought he was going to die because he couldn't get any air. I was screaming and crying.

"He had the water bottle in his hand and kept pointing at his throat and I realized the cap was lodged down his throat. He turned blue.

"He had been opening the top of the bottle with his mouth. He had fully swallowed it. It was in the base of his neck.

The officer came back and saw what was going on, and immediately called 911 to request an ambulance.

Their son was rushed to Toledo Hospital in Ohio, where he had to have surgery to remove the bottle cap.

"The cop ended up not writing us a ticket because he felt so bad about what happened. It was good he was there to help us. I feel strangely grateful we were pulled over."
