Elise Finch dead at 51: CBS meteorologist dies as co-host shares heartbreaking message to her husband Graig Henriques
POPULAR CBS meteorologist Elise Finch has died at 51.
The beloved TV host's death was confirmed in a heartbreaking on-air segment where her WCBS colleagues paid tribute to the "gifted and consummate professional."
Finch reportedly died at a local New York hospital on Sunday.
A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
In the on-air tribute, WCBS's Jessica Moore was noticeably emotional as she honored her friend.
She added that the team was offering their support to Finch's daughter Grace and her husband Graig Henriques, who is also a photojournalist at WCBS.

"Elise was a gifted and consummate professional who took great care with her work," WCBS said in a statement.
"She was also a wonderful ambassador in the community, including her hometown of Mount Vernon.
"Above all, Elise was a fiercely loving and devoted mother to her daughter Grace and wife to Graig Henriques," it added.
Moore also posted a heartfelt personal tribute to Finch on Twitter.
"Elise was fiercely loyal to those she loved, a straight shooter, a consummate professional, and made me laugh until I cried," Moore wrote.
"But above all, she was completely devoted to her family, especially her daughter Grace."
She added: "I love you so much, my friend. Heaven now has an angel like no other."
WBCS anchor Tony Aiello noted Finch's love of music and included a picture montage featuring the late journalist.
"Elise Finch loved music. The song of her life deserved many more verses," Aiello said.
"Her gifts were many, and so too the lives she touched."
The anchor added: "My deepest condolences to Graig and little Grace, her parents and sister, and all our CBS2 family."
"RIP Elise," wrote reporter Kiran Dhillon.
"It was a pleasure working alongside you."
Dhillon continued: "You were a role model for women everywhere."
"Thinking of your family tonight and our @CBSNewYork family too."
Finch, whose full name is Elise Dione Finch Henriques, sat alongside co-host Cindy Hsu for the network's morning newscast.
She started as a weekend meteorologist for New York City's WCBS back in 2007 in what was a 16-year-long career, per a statement from CBS News.
Fans might remember Finch hosting the morning news alongside other anchors such as Mary Calvi and Chris Wragge in recent years.

In 2012, Finch was honored with the Denzel Community Service Award, named after the Oscar-winning actor.
Finch's parents had in fact rented part of their home to the icon's family when the meteorologist was younger.
