NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A man sucker punched a 79-year-old woman on a Bronx street this week, police said Wednesday as they released video of the suspect.

The victim was walking near Gerard Avenue and E. 164th Street in the Concourse section on the evening of June 4 when she was slugged in the face by a bald man wearing a tank top and flip flops.

The force of the blow caused her to fall and hit her head on the ground.

EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.

Her attacker fled immediately after the assault. He was last seen headed northbound on Gerard Avenue towards E. East 164th Street, police said.
